FAQs

What is 'polymer clay'?
Polymer clay is a manmade clay made from a plastic, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) base.  It is baked in the oven at a very low temperature - not fired in a kiln like ceramics.  Once baked, the clay is hard yet slightly flexible (however I don't recommend testing out the flexibility of your earrings!)

What makes it so great for jewelry?
Polymer clay is super lightweight! That's why it can be paired with larger brass pieces and still be comfortable in your ears. Often people tell me they hardly feel them in their ears...I often forget that I have them in!

How do I care for my polymer clay jewelry?
Even though its flexible, and won't shatter if dropped, your polymer clay jewelry is still fragile and so please still treat your designs with care. Polymer clay can be easily scratched by harder materials such as metal. Keep your jewelry in a safe place when not being worn.
Makeup or other dirt can easily be removed from your jewelry by gently going over the dirt spots with a q-tip that has been dipped in rubbing alcohol.
Your brass components may tarnish over time, but can easily be cleaned with a tarnish remover using a soft cloth. No tarnish remover? Did you know...you can also use ketchup?!! Simply rub ketchup onto your brass component with a soft cloth, rinse with warm water and then dry thoroughly!!

What is used for the earring posts?
All earring posts are hypoallergenic - so they’re lead, cadmium and nickel free.
Posts are either gold plated brass or surgical/stainless steel

How long does it take for my earrings to be made?
Made-to-order earrings take 1-2 weeks, from order date to shipping date. Products that are ‘made-to-order’ will have it noted in the product description.
Ready made earrings will be shipped within 3-5 business days, unless otherwise specified in product description.
